What a wonderful effort by the Chris Crossing team who rowed all day long on both Grafton and Henry Streets as part of their fundraising for the National Neurosurgical Centre.
The 12 members of the Chris Crossing team - all members of an Garda Siochana - will row from Holyhead to Dublin Port in early June. The team are all novice rowers who are undertaking the 12 - 15 hour crossing in a bid to raise €50,000 for Beaumont Hospital. They are taking on the challenge in memory of the late Chris Byrne who passed away flllwoing a battle with a brain tumour in March 2016.
Some well known faces showed up to support the lads including Karl Henry and Bernard Dunne, Eddie Hobbs, Richie Sadler, Eoghan McDermott, Jane and Dave from Red Rock and the boxing trio of Mick Dowling, Darren O'Neill and Adam Nolan. Down on Henry St, Brian Fenton, Johnny Small and Paul Flynn from the Dublin Football team joined by the Sam Maguire, stopped by to say hello. The team enjoyed huge support from the public and the rain stayed away which was the ultimate bonus!
