Brother and sister, Adrian and Heather Porter from Kilmuckridge made 2015 the year for riasing funds for the cochlear Implant Programme. Their young cousin, Damien Duke who is now 10 and from Bunclody, had his hearing restored through a cochlear implant operation and the pair decided to each do something to give back to the department.
Adrian, a student in Waterford, took part in a parachute jump raising €610 and Heather, a pastry chef in the Park House Hotel in Galway, ran the Dublin City Marathon in under four hours raising €1,552.
Thanks to Adrian and Heather for their wonderful support and to the Duke family for pointing them in our direction!
