We want to share a massive THANK YOU to everyone who took part in The Big Beaumont Hospital Fun Run 2024 in St. Anne's Park on Sunday 29th September. We are so delighted that the rain held off, however, everyone was so brave to face the weather threats, travelling from near and far to be there, and we cannot thank everyone enough for that!
We would also like to thank our amazing sponsors, Glenveagh Homes, for their continued support with the fun run.
We are SO delighted to share that our wonderful fun run participants helped to raise over €38,000 for Beaumont Hospital. These funds will be used to purchase brand new gym equipment for the Physiotherapy Department, including a standing frame and exercise bike for arms and legs.
Every day in the Physiotherapy Department at Beaumont Hospital, patients will attend the physiotherapy gym with new neurological conditions that result in paralysis, pain, and difficulty walking. Patients see the Physiotherapy Department as a way of taking back control of their rehabilitation journey.
When patients see gym equipment that is familiar to them, it gives them hope and a sense of normality. They see the gym as a way to help them gain independence back, as well as build their strength and fitness. New equipment such as standing frames and exercise bikes will enable patients to use the most modern technologies to support their recovery.
Thank you to each participant for making this a possibility. Many were taking part for very special reasons and we want to give a special mention to "Alo's Army" who took part in memory of a wonderful Beaumont Hospital Foundation supporter, Alison Kelly.
